How are you today? I hope you are fine.. Oke, In this occasion, I will share example of Descriptive Text. But, do you still remember about the definition of Descriptive Text? What is Descriptive Text? Yup.. Descriptive Text is a text that describe a person, place or things. Its social function is to describe a person, place or things in specific. How about the generic structure? The generic structure of descriptive text is Identification, and description.

If you write a description about one of your your friend that the name is blablabla. Then you write about his or her face, tall, age, skin, hair, etc, in detail. It means you make a Descriptive text. What you wrote is Descriptive Text. If you write about one of your cat, and you describe it features, It’s is the same.

Example of Descriptive Text about Indonesia

Indonesia

Indonesia is the place where I can stand and live. It is a country in Southeast Asia and Oceania. Indonesia, as I know it well, is an archipelago comprising at around 17,000 islands. It has 33 provinces with over 230 million people, including myself and is the world’s fourth most populous country.

I stand for years here, wasting my time to work hard for its beauty. This country is too much perfect to live in, especially the nation’s capital city, Jakarta, the city in which I fall in love.

The country shares land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and Malaysia; but no borders of my heart with Indonesia at all. All people know that other neighboring countries of Indonesia are Singapore, Philippines, Australia, and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. All of them are only neighbors which do not really love it as well as I do.

With its islands, Indonesia gives me many friends from distinct ethnic, linguistic, and religious groups. The Javanese are the largest—and the politically dominant—ethnic group. Due to Nationalism, I and my friends will always get together for sharing identity defined by a national language, ethnic diversity, religious pluralism, within a majority Muslim population.

I will hold this country with the real spirit and power with its national motto, “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” (“Unity in Diversity” literally, “many, yet one”), articulates the diversity that shapes the country.

Despite its large population and densely populated regions, Indonesia has vast areas of wilderness that support the world’s second highest level of biodiversity. The country is richly endowed with natural resources, yet poverty remains widespread.

Indonesia adalah tempat dimana saya bisa berdiri dan tinggal. Ini adalah sebuah negara di Asia Tenggara dan Oceania. Indonesia, seperti yang saya kenal dengan baik, adalah kepulauan yang terdiri dari sekitar 17.000 pulau. Ini memiliki 33 provinsi dengan lebih dari 230 juta orang, termasuk saya dan merupakan negara dengan jumlah penduduk terpadat keempat di dunia.

Dengan kepulauannya, Indonesia memberi saya banyak teman dari kelompok etnis, linguistik, dan agama yang berbeda. Orang Jawa adalah kelompok etnis yang terbesar dan dominan secara politis. Karena Nasionalisme, saya dan teman-teman saya akan selalu berkumpul untuk berbagi identitas yang didefinisikan oleh bahasa nasional, keragaman etnis, pluralisme agama, dalam populasi mayoritas Muslim.

Saya akan mempertahankan negara ini dengan semangat dan kekuatan yang sesungguhnya dengan moto nasionalnya, “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” secara harfiah, “banyak, namun satu”), mengartikulasikan keragaman yang membentuk negara ini.

Meskipun memiliki populasi yang besar dan daerah berpenduduk padat, Indonesia memiliki wilayah gurun yang luas yang mendukung tingkat keanekaragaman hayati kedua tertinggi di dunia. Negara ini kaya sumber daya alam, namun kemiskinan tetap meluas.
