Spoof Text adalah text yang menceritakan kisah nyata yang terjadi di waktu lampau dengan ending yang tidak dapat diprediksi dan lucu. Bedanya dengan recount text adalah recount bertujuan menghibur pembaca sedangkan spoof text bertujuan untuk menceritakan rangkaian kejadian yang diakhiri dengan twist (hal yang lucu dan tak terduga)

Definition of Spoof Text

Spoof is a text which tells factual story, happened in the past time with unpredictable and funny ending. Its social function is to entertain and share the story.
Atau
Spoof is a type of story which have has twist (funny part in the end of the story). It contains an unpredictable event which makes the story funny.

Generic Structure of Spoof Text

# Orientation (introduction of the participant of the story, where it happen and when. By giving the orientation, reader will recognize the story)
# Events (tells about the chronological of the story. Several events are explored in chronological way which able to arrange the story read nicely.)
# Twist (an unpredictable plot in the end of the story which amuses the reader. Readers even did not predict before that it would be)



Purpose of Spoof Text

– To entertain/amuse the reader with a funny story.
– To tell a short story or event with a humorous twist.

The Characteristics / Language Feature of Spoof Text

– Focusing on individual participant
– Use of material process
– Use of circumstance of time and place
– Use of past tense
– Use of direct speech for the dialog
– Using action verb; ate, ran, etc
– Using adverb of time and place
– Told in chronological order

Contoh of Spoof Text

Penguin in the Park

Orientation
Once a man was walking in a park when he come across a penguin.

Event
He took him to a policeman and said, “I have just found this penguin. What should I do?” The policeman replied, “take him to the zoo”.

The next day the policeman saw the same man in the same park and the man still carrying the penguin with him. The policeman was rather supriseed and walked up to the man and asked “why are you still carrying that penguin about? Didn’t you take it to the zoo?”

Twist
“I certainly did” replied the man.
“And it was a great idea because he really enjoyed it, so today I am taking him to the moviest, and the next day I’ll take it to the beach. It’ll be so much fun” said the man.
“Owh my God. You are so stupid. I asked you to take the penguin and give it to the zoo. I didn’t ask to take it to the zoo and had fun there with it.” policemen said.

Language Feature Analysis:
Focusing on certain certain participants; the man, penguin, policeman
Using action verb; carry, walk up
Using adverb of time and place; once, in the park
Told in chronological order; chronological order by days, the next day.

Penguin di Taman

Orientation
Suatu ketika ada seorang pria sedang berjalan di sebuah taman ketika dia melihat seekor pinguin melintas.

Events
Dia membawanya ke seorang polisi dan berkata, “saya baru saja menemukan pinguin ini. Apa yang harus saya lakukan?” Polisi tersebut menjawab, “bawa ke kebun binatang”.

Hari berikutnya polisi tersebut melihat pria yang sama di taman yang sama dan pria tersebut masih membawa pinguin bersamanya. Polisi tersebut terkejut dan menghampirinya serta bertanya “mengapa kamu masih membawa pinguin itu? Bukannya kamu membanya ke kebun binatang?”

Twist
“Saya melakukannya” jawab pria tersebut.
“Dan itu merupakan sebuah ide yang bagus karena pinguin tersebut menikmatinya, jadi hari ini saya akan membawanya ke bioskop, dan besok saya akan membawanya ke pantai. Itu kan sangat menyenangkan” kata pria tersebut.
“Owh ya Tuhan. Kamu sangat bodoh. Saya suruh kamu untuk membawa pinguin tersebut dan memberikannya ke pihak kebun binatang. Saya tidak menyuruh untuk membawanya ke kebun binatang dan bersenang-senang di sana dengannya.” polisi tersebut berkata.

Contoh Spoof Text berjudul Love Money too Much

Love Money too Much

A rich husband told his wife, “Dear, I want to keep all my money to the bank”. His wife replied, “Why do you want to keep all your money while we can use it to finance the needs of our life” her husband who is stingy did not consider her advice and still keep all his money in the bank.

One day, the husband was seriously ill, but he still loved his money. “If I die later, wrap all of my money and put into my grave” asked her husband. Finally, after a while, her husband was dead. Then she did all her husband demands. She put something into her husband’s grave. One of her friend asked her, “Why did you do that?” “I did what was ordered by my husband!” She replied. “So you buried all that money?” asked her friend. “I took the money then I put it into my savings and I buried the check with my husband” said the wife.

Terjemahan

Terlalu Mencintai Uang

Seorang suami yang kaya memberitahukan kepada istrinya, “Istriku aku ingin menyimpan semua uangku yang banyak ini ke bank”. sang istri itu menjawab, “kenapa kau ingin mennyimpan semua uang itu sementara kita bisa menggunakannya untuk membiayai kebutuhan hidup kita” jawab sang istri. Sang suami yang pelit itu tetap tidak mempertimbangkan saran istrinya dan tetap menyimpan semua uangnya di Bank.

Pada suatu hari, Sang suami sakit keras namun dia tetap mencintai uangnya. “Istriku Jika aku meninggal nanti, bungkus semua uangku dan masukan ke dalam kuburanku” Pinta sang suami. Akhirnya setelah beberapa saat, Sang suami meninggal. kemudian istri itu memenuhi semua permintaan suaminya. Dia memasukan sesuatu ke dalam kuburan suaminya. Salah satu teman sang istri bertanya kepadanya, “kanapa kau melakukan itu?” “Aku melakukan apa yang diperintahkan oleh suamiku!” jawabnya. “jadi kau mengubur semua uang itu?” tanya temannya. “Aku mengambil uang itu kemudian aku masukan ke dalam tabunganku lalu aku kubur ceknya bersama suamiku” jawab sang istri.

Contoh Spoof Text berjudul Nasreddin’s Coat

Nasreddin’s Coat

One day Nasreddin had been invited to the dinner party. He went to the party by wearing old clothes.
When he arrived in the party, nobody looked at him and nobody gave him a seat. He got no food in the party so he went home and change his clothes.

Next he put on his best clothes. He wore his newest coat and went to the party again. The host at once got up and came to meet him. The host offered him the best table and gave him a good seat and served him the best food

Nasreddin sat and put off his coat. He put his coat and said; “Eat the food, Coat!” the hosts and guests were very surprised and asked Nareddin; “What are doing?” Nasreddin replied calmly; “When I came here with my old clothes, nobody looked at me. Then I went home and put on my best clothes. I came back in my newest coat and you all give me this best food and drink. So, you give food to my coat instead of me”. Getting Nasreddin’s answer, they just shook the head.

Jubah Nasreddin

Suatu hari Nasreddin diundang ke pesta makan malam. Dia pergi ke pesta itu dengan mengenakan pakaian tua.

Ketika dia tiba di pesta itu, tidak ada yang melihat dia dan tidak ada yang memberinya tempat duduk. Dia tidak mendapat makanan di pesta tersebut sehingga dia pulang ke rumah dan mengganti bajunya
Selanjutnya dia mengenakan pakaian terbaiknya. Dia mengenakan mantel terbarunya dan pergi ke pesta lagi. Tuan rumah sekaligus bangkit dan datang menemuinya. Tuan rumah menawari dia meja terbaik dan memberinya tempat duduk yang bagus dan memberinya makanan terbaik.

Nasreddin duduk dan menanggalkan mantelnya. Dia meletakkan mantelnya dan berkata; “Makan makanan, Lambang!” Tuan rumah dan tamu sangat terkejut dan bertanya kepada Nareddin; “Apa yang sedang terjadi?” Nasreddin menjawab dengan tenang; “Ketika saya datang ke sini dengan pakaian lamaku, tidak ada yang melihat ke arahku. Lalu aku pulang ke rumah dan mengenakan pakaian terbaikku. Saya kembali mengenakan mantel terbaru saya dan kalian semua memberi saya makanan dan minuman terbaik ini.
